A photo from a phone records far more than the picture: the camera, the exact second, and usually the latitude and longitude to within a few metres. This shows you everything that is in there and takes it out — without re-encoding the image, so the picture that comes out is byte-for-byte the one that went in, minus what it was carrying. It runs privately in your browser, which for a tool about what your files reveal is rather the point.

No. Toolpit does not upload your file for processing — the tool runs as code in this browser tab, works on the copy your browser opened, and forgets it when you close the tab. You can check this yourself: open your browser’s network panel and run the tool. You will see the page, its scripts and the ads on the site, and — when you save, if you are signed in — one small request that charges 10 tokens to your account. None of them carries your file, its name or anything read from it, because file processing stays on your device.
Not here. The metadata blocks are removed from the container and every byte of picture data is passed through untouched, so the image is identical to the original. That is worth checking elsewhere: the usual way to do this in a browser is to redraw the photo onto a canvas and export it again, which re-compresses the picture — a JPEG loses quality, and a large one can come back bigger than it started.
Typically the camera make and model, the lens, the exposure settings, the date and time to the second, the software that edited it, and on most phones the GPS latitude and longitude — often accurate to a few metres. Some cameras also record a body or lens serial number, which links every photo you have ever posted to the same device.
The large ones usually strip location on upload, but it is not universal, it does not apply to files sent by email or messaging app, and it does not apply to a photo attached to a classified listing or a rental application. Removing it before the file leaves your machine does not depend on anyone else’s policy.
JPG, PNG and WebP — the three that carry this kind of record. The colour profile is deliberately kept in each, because dropping it would change how the image displays, which would make the operation lossy through the back door.
Toolpit adds no watermark or paid page quota. File and tool limits depend on device memory and supported features. Processing and previews are free; saving the result costs 10 tokens. A new account gets 50 tokens once its email is confirmed (once per email address) — five saves. Tokens pay for the download, never for a better version of it: the file you save is the same full-quality result either way.
