Click a line of the document’s own text and rewrite it: Toolpit reads the page’s content stream, deletes the original glyphs and draws yours in their place at the same position, size and colour — so the result is still real, selectable text. Every other online editor asks you to upload the contract first; this one never does, because the whole editor is running in this tab.

No. Toolpit does not upload your file for processing — the tool runs as code in this browser tab, works on the copy your browser opened, and forgets it when you close the tab. You can check this yourself: open your browser’s network panel and run the tool. You will see the page, its scripts and the ads on the site, and — when you save, if you are signed in — one small request that charges 10 tokens to your account. None of them carries your file, its name or anything read from it, because file processing stays on your device.
Yes. Use the Draw tool to sign with a mouse, trackpad or finger, or use the Image tool to place a photo of your signature — a PNG with a transparent background looks best. This produces a visible signature on the page, not a cryptographic digital signature.
Yes. Choose “Edit text” and the tool reads the page’s own text, boxes every line it finds, and lets you rewrite any of them. The original glyphs are deleted from the file and yours are drawn in their place at the same position, size, colour and typeface — so the result is still real, selectable, searchable text rather than a picture patched over the old words.
Because a PDF has no paragraphs. Text is stored as instructions — "set this font, move the pen here, draw these glyphs" — with no record of which lines belong together, so there is nothing to re-flow. Replacing a line is exact; a longer replacement simply occupies more width, and the tool warns you when that happens so you can check it has not run into anything. No PDF editor can reflow arbitrary text, and the ones that appear to are re-typesetting the page from a guess about its structure.
The page has no text layer — it is a scan or an exported image, so there are no glyphs to replace, only pixels. You can cover the area with a filled box and type over the top, which is fine for tidying a document up. It is not fine for hiding anything: the original image stays in the file underneath the box and can be pulled back out of it. If something has to be unrecoverable, edit the picture itself in an image editor and rebuild the PDF from it.
They are drawn into the page content, so they look identical in every viewer and survive printing. They cannot be selected and deleted afterwards, which is usually what you want for a signature. Do not treat a filled box as a redaction, though: the mark is drawn on top of the page and the words underneath are left exactly where they were. Anyone can select the covered text and copy it, which is measured by a fixture in this repository rather than assumed. To remove text, use Redact PDF, which deletes it from the file.
Toolpit adds no watermark or paid page quota. File and tool limits depend on device memory and supported features. Processing and previews are free; saving the result costs 10 tokens. A new account gets 50 tokens once its email is confirmed (once per email address) — five saves. Tokens pay for the download, never for a better version of it: the file you save is the same full-quality result either way.
