No. Toolpit does not upload your file for processing — the tool runs as code in this browser tab, works on the copy your browser opened, and forgets it when you close the tab. You can check this yourself: open your browser’s network panel and run the tool. You will see the page, its scripts and the ads on the site, and — when you save, if you are signed in — one small request that charges 10 tokens to your account. None of them carries your file, its name or anything read from it, because file processing stays on your device.

Somewhere between 10% and 25% for a diagonal stamp across text — low enough to read the page through, high enough to survive a photocopy. Tiled watermarks want the lower end of that range, because there are twelve of them.

Yes — drop in a PNG or JPG. A PNG with a transparent background gives much the better result, since a JPG will stamp its white rectangle onto the page along with the logo.

It is drawn into the page content, so it cannot simply be switched off or peeled away as a separate layer. Someone determined could still edit it out, as with any watermark anywhere — the purpose is to mark provenance and discourage casual reuse, not to make a document tamper-proof. For text that must not be readable at all, Redact PDF removes it rather than covering it.

Above, at a low opacity, is what people expect — the mark reads across the whole page, including over images. Below the content keeps the text perfectly clean but disappears entirely behind anything with a filled white background, which a great many PDFs have. If your watermark seems to vanish, that is almost always the reason.
