Photograph pages and get a clean PDF.
No file to hand?(sample-scan.png · made-up data)
Point the camera at a page, or add photos you already took. Each one is cleaned up like a scanner would: the paper goes white, the shadows fade, and there is a black-and-white mode that reads like a photocopy. Put the pages in order and save one PDF, or keep them as images. Nothing is sent anywhere; the scanner is the phone in your hand.
Open the camera and photograph each page, or add photos you have already taken.
Choose the cleanup: Colour keeps the colours and whitens the paper, Greyscale is cleaner and smaller, Black & white reads like a photocopy.
Put the pages in order and remove any that did not come out.
Save as a single PDF, or as images.
No. Toolpit does not upload your file for processing — the tool runs as code in this browser tab, works on the copy your browser opened, and forgets it when you close the tab. You can check this yourself: open your browser’s network panel and run the tool. You will see the page, its scripts and the ads on the site, and — when you save, if you are signed in — one small request that charges 10 tokens to your account. None of them carries your file, its name or anything read from it, because file processing stays on your device.
Black & white for ordinary printed documents — forms, letters, contracts. It uses an adaptive threshold, deciding ink or paper from each pixel’s own neighbourhood rather than one level for the whole image, so a shadow across the page does not become a black band. Colour for anything with photographs, stamps or coloured highlighting. Greyscale sits between the two and makes the smallest readable file for text with some shading.
Light matters more than the camera. Get even light across the page, avoid your own shadow, hold the phone parallel to the paper rather than at an angle, and fill the frame with the page. Flattening a curled page against a table removes the shading down the spine that no cleanup can fully fix.
Not from the scan itself — the pages are photographs, so there is no text layer to search. Run a page through Image to text if you need the words, and paste them wherever you need them searchable.
No. The pages live only in the tool while you are working, and the PDF goes wherever you send it with the share sheet. Nothing is kept afterwards, and nothing is uploaded — the scanner is the phone in your hand.
Every one of these runs in your browser too — no upload, no watermark.
